Our Foundation Areas
The Potato Foundation is dedicated to supporting public benefit organizations (PBOs) and projects that make a tangible, positive impact on the communities connected to current and former employees of Lamb Weston/Meijer VOF. Our focus is on initiatives that foster personal development, well-being, and community enrichment. We believe that by investing in projects that directly enhance the living environment of our employees, we can create lasting change and inspire progress.
We prioritize projects that demonstrate a clear, visible impact, whether they address education and development, health and well-being, or sports and culture. Our goal is to ensure that every initiative we support contributes meaningfully to the growth and improvement of the community it serves.
The foundation encourages Lamb Weston/Meijer VOF employees—both current and former—to actively participate in this process by submitting proposals for PBOs or projects that align with our mission. We recognize the valuable insights employees bring regarding the unique needs of their local communities, and we welcome their recommendations for funding. Proposals that demonstrate a strong alignment with our mission may be considered for multi-year support, ensuring ongoing, sustainable benefits. Continuation of support is contingent upon a review of the project’s progress and outcomes from the previous year.

Funding Guidelines
- Donations between €5,000 and €20,000 are reviewed and granted during regular board meetings when the criteria have being met . These grants are designed to support smaller-scale projects that can deliver a meaningful impact within a shorter time-frame.
- For larger projects, with requests exceeding 20.000 euro, a more detailed reviewing process will be undertaken, with specific criteria and procedures established by the board. These projects are typically more complex and require a higher level of scrutiny to ensure they deliver substantial, long-term benefits to the community.
The maximum funding per project request is capped at €100,000, and all donations are granted based on the potential impact and alignment with the foundation’s mission. The board has the discretion to increase this amount if an opportunity or necessity arises.
By supporting projects with the right resources and oversight, The Potato Foundation ensures that every euro invested has the power to create meaningful change, helping communities thrive and grow for years to come.
