How We Work
At The Potato Foundation, we are dedicated to making a tangible, lasting impact by supporting public benefit organizations (PBOs) and initiatives that align with our mission. Our approach is built on collaboration and inclusivity, ensuring that the voices of our community, especially current and former employees of Lamb Weston/Meijer VOF, play a key role in shaping the projects we support.
Financial support
We provide financial support in the form of donations to organizations and projects that address the areas we care deeply about—education, sports, culture, and health. Our funding is aimed at initiatives that enhance personal development, promote well-being, and create equal opportunities for all, regardless of background or circumstances.
The process
The process begins with current and former employees of Lamb Weston/Meijer VOF, who are encouraged to identify and propose PBOs or public benefit projects that align with our core values. These proposals are then carefully reviewed by our board, where each project is evaluated based on its potential for positive community impact and its alignment with our mission.
Transparency and fairness are at the heart of our decision-making process. Every proposal is considered with care, and our board ensures that only the most impactful and meaningful initiatives receive funding. By empowering our employees to be active participants in the foundation’s work, we create a powerful partnership between the foundation, its members, and the communities we serve.
Through this collaborative model, The Potato Foundation ensures that every project we support is a reflection of our shared vision—a society where everyone has the opportunity to grow, thrive, and contribute to a healthier, more inclusive future.
